Terms and Conditions of Sale

Effective date: 20/08/2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale of products by Street Map Prints ("we", "us", "our") through www.streetmapprints.co.uk (the "Site") to customers ("you", "your"). By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before ordering.

1. Who we are

Street Map Prints is a UK-based business.

Business/trading name: Street Map Prints
Registered company name (if applicable): Street Map Prints
Company number (if applicable):
Registered address: 38 Ellesmere Road, Stockton Heath, WA4 6DZ
Contact email: hello@streetmapprints.co.uk

2. Our products

We sell printed map posters and related products, including personalised and custom-location prints. Product images on the Site are for illustrative purposes. Actual colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings and the printing and paper stock used. We take reasonable care to describe our products accurately, but minor variations between the image shown and the item delivered do not constitute a defect.

3. Custom and personalised orders

Where you request a custom print, such as a specific location, marked address, colour scheme, or wording, you are responsible for checking that all details you provide (spelling, addresses, coordinates, colour choices) are correct before you submit your order. We produce personalised items based on exactly what you provide and are not responsible for errors in the information you supply. Because these items are made to your specification, please see Section 8 on your right to cancel, as personalised goods are treated differently from standard stock items.

4. Placing an order

An order placed through the Site is an offer by you to purchase the product(s) selected, on these Terms. We will send you an order confirmation email, which confirms receipt of your order but does not by itself mean we have accepted it. A contract between us is only formed when we send you a dispatch confirmation, or otherwise confirm that we accept your order. We may decline or cancel an order at our discretion, for example if a product is out of stock, if there was an error in pricing or the product description, or if we suspect fraudulent activity, in which case we will notify you and refund any payment already taken.

5. Pricing and payment

All prices on the Site are shown in [GBP (£)] and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you complete your order. We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct, but if we discover a pricing error on an order you have placed, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel, and will not process the order without your instruction.

Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering. Payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By placing an order, you confirm that the payment details provided are valid and that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method.

6. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on the Site or in your order confirmation. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed, and may be affected by factors outside our control, including courier delays, customs processing for international orders, and high demand periods. Risk in the product passes to you once it is delivered to the address you provided. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address; we are not liable for non-delivery or delay caused by incorrect address details you supplied.

If your order does not arrive within a reasonable time of the estimated delivery window, please contact us so we can investigate with the courier.

7. International orders

If you order from outside the UK, your order may be subject to import duties, customs charges, or local taxes, which are your responsibility and are not included in our prices or delivery charges. We recommend checking with your local customs authority before ordering if you are unsure.

8. Your right to cancel (standard, non-personalised items)

If you are a consumer ordering from within the UK or EU, you have a legal right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason, for standard (non-personalised) items. To cancel, contact us at [insert contact email] within this period. You will then need to return the item to us within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel, in original, unused, and resaleable condition, at your own cost unless the item is faulty or was sent in error. Once we receive the returned item, we will refund the price paid, including standard delivery charges, within 14 days.

Please note: because personalised and custom-made prints (for example, prints featuring a specific address, custom marking, or bespoke colour request) are made to your specification, they are exempt from the standard 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, damaged, or not as described — see Section 9.

9. Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items

Your right to a working, accurately described product is protected regardless of whether an item was personalised. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or different from what you ordered, please contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and, where possible, photos of the issue. Depending on the situation, we will offer a replacement, reprint, or refund, in line with your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please do not dispose of a damaged or faulty item until we've confirmed how to proceed, as we may ask for it to be returned.

10. Returns process

To start a return or report an issue, email us at [insert contact email] with your order number and the reason for the return. We will confirm the next steps, including the return address if applicable. We recommend using a tracked delivery service when returning items, as we cannot be responsible for returns lost in transit that were not sent using a trackable method.

11. Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. Please allow up to 14 days for the refund to appear in your account, though most are processed sooner. Original delivery charges are only refunded where the cancellation right in Section 8 applies, or where the item was faulty, damaged, or incorrect.

12. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including map designs, layouts, logos, product photography, and written content, is owned by or licensed to Street Map Prints and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Map data used in our designs is derived from OpenStreetMap contributors and used in accordance with the Open Database License. You may not reproduce, resell, or create derivative works from our designs or content without our prior written consent. Purchasing a print grants you the right to display it for personal, non-commercial use only.

13. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not submit content in a custom order (such as text, addresses, or markings) that is offensive, unlawful, infringes on someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to use. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that we believe breaches this condition.

14. Our liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses that are not a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or of our negligence, such as loss of income or loss of opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law. Our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for the relevant product(s), except where the law does not allow this limitation.

15. Privacy and cookies

Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, available on the Site. By placing an order, you also agree to the terms of those policies.

16. Force majeure

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to strikes, extreme weather, courier or postal service disruption, supply shortages, or other circumstances beyond our control.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our processes or the law. The version in effect at the time you place your order will apply to that order. We will post the current version on this page with a revised effective date.

18. Complaints

If you're unhappy with your order or our service, please contact us first at [insert contact email] so we can try to resolve the issue directly. If we're unable to resolve a dispute, you may also be able to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (if applicable) or an approved UK Alternative Dispute Resolution provider.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your right, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in your country of residence if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU.
